On the first day of school on February 17, Ma Xin, the vice governor of Jiangsu, came to our school for investigation. Specially, he visited the Agricultural Engineering College to learn about the technological innovation of agricultural machinery.

In the Leisi Building, Ma Xin and his team visited the corn-soybean strip compound planting harvester, the branch precision sprayer, the no-tillage precision seeder, the multifunctional combine harvester, the tea garden cultivator and other agricultural equipment such as trimmers and sprayers which are jointly developed by our school and the enterprise. They visited the Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Equipment Theory and Technology Laboratory of the College of Agricultural Engineering, learned about the fully automatic vegetable transplanting system, and listened to the person in charge of the cooperation project for the development of mechanized and intelligent equipment for new agronomic mechanization of corn and soybean intercropping, Chen Xuegeng, an academician of the Academy of Engineering in China, introduced the situation.

At the subsequent symposium, Ma Xin pointed out that the promotion of corn and soybean strip compound planting is an innovative measure to expand grain and oil production. The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs should strengthen overall planning and coordination, promptly decompose and implement the tasks assigned by the state to our province, firmly grasp the seed reserves, strengthen technical support, and coordinate and promote the research and development of suitable agricultural machinery. As a university that started with agricultural machinery, Jiangsu University should give full play to its disciplinary advantages, speed up the research progress of suitable agricultural machinery, optimize its technical route, and give full play to the supporting role of scientific and technological innovation. It is necessary to strengthen the deep integration of production, education and research. The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Jiangsu University, Jiangsu Agricultural Reclamation Group and related agricultural machinery enterprises should closely contact each other to provide practical agricultural machinery and equipment as soon as possible. The promotion of new agronomy provides a strong guarantee.

Ma Xin and his team also investigated the school's epidemic prevention and control work. Liu Jian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Government, and comrades in charge of the Provincial Department of Education, Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Provincial Health Commission, Provincial Agricultural Reclamation Group, Zhenjiang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government accompanied the investigation.
