This subject is key program of Jiangsu province in the 12th Five-Year Plan.

Objectives: The guideline of the curriculum is to cultivate first-rate higher quality engineers who have both plenty of fundamental theory and experiment skills in agricultural machinery design, manufacture, automation and control technology, operation management.

Characteristics: This subject is one of the first new disciplines in Jiangsu University, when it was established in 1956. It cultivated the first undergraduate, the first master student, the first doctoral student for our Agri-mechanization. At present, as the key discipline of the 12th five-year plan in Jiangsu province, it has the first-class teaching facilities and Engineering training methods, paying attention to the cultivation of comprehensive quality, innovative ability and personality development, carrying out one-to-one tutorial system, participating in research with the help of a mentor, getting a high level of innovation training. As well as, every student has chance to get scholarship and bursary.

Courses: Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Electronics in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Designing, Engineering materials and its forming basis, Microcomputer system and interface technology, Foundation of machine manufacturing technology, Mechanical CAD, Foundation of Control Engineering, Hydraulic and pneumatic transmission, Measurement Techniques of Mechanic Engineering, Mechanical optimization design, Mechatronics, Agricultural mechanics, Agricultural Facility Engineering and planning design, Automobile and tractor, and so on.

Further study: School of Agricultural Equipment and Engineering has two first-level disciplines, namely Agricultural Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, 6 postdoctoral stations, covering 1 National Key Discipline (Agricultural Electrification and Automation), 1 Jiangsu Preponderant Discipline (Agricultural Engineering), 1 Key Laboratory of the Education Ministry of China, 1 Synergistic Innovation Center of Modern Agricultural Equipment and Technology, 2 Key Laboratory of Jiangsu provinces. There are plenty of subject resource, 50% student can enter into graduate education. Besides, top students can enter graduate education without taking an exam in advance or study abroad funded by the subject.

Employment situation and trend: Graduates of our department are welcomed by the society, and can find jobs easily. They often take positions in such units that are closely connected with Agricultural mechanization and its automation, such as, enterprise, research institute, government agency, colleges and universities. This subject has a wide range of industry resources, and closely linked to the enterprises and institutions, the first employment rate is 100%.
